Re: RAF Hawk display pilots
Hi F-4. Will check through my extensive collection of old airshow programmes to see if I can find the names for the missing years. This sounds like a worthy cause which deserves support so if I can help by providing pics of the display Hawks (I think I have most of them) or the pilots (of whom I have a few) pl let me know and I'll sort them out. Meanwhile I'll dig out all my old programmes for the '82 + '85 shows.

Re: RAF Hawk display pilots
Bill Auckland was a very good friend of mine. He had passed selection for the Reds shortly before falling ill and sadly left us in 2003.
Re: RAF Hawk display pilots
Yes, thanks. Shame it isn't a current feature of the airshow scene.Professor_M wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 11:53 amDoes the 2015 Hawk T2 Role demo count?

4 minutes in there's an RN Hawk display team, is it exclusively RAF solo you're after?

In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.
Re: RAF Hawk display pilots
Thanks, Black Seahawks I think they were called. Displayed with FRA/Cobham Falcons one year I recall.Sparts99 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 1:34 pmNor sure if its relevant, in this post in the photography section

Re: RAF Hawk display pilots
Indeed, a couple of seasons they were lead by Brian Hoskins, who over saw the changeover to the Hawk from Gnat for the Reds 1979-'80. Re: RAF Hawk display pilots
Flt.Lt. Mark Linney [1990], went on to display the F.86 Sabre on many occasions at Duxford. I think he was also the Harrier display pilot at one time also.

Re: RAF Hawk display pilots
Sadly, Guy Bancroft-Wilson was killed flying the Fighter Collection's P.63 Kingcobra at Biggin Hill show in 2001.
Re: RAF Hawk display pilots
The Leuchars display programme 1989 shows Flt/Lt Tim Frost as Hawk solo pilot. QFI at Valley at the time.
