Five a day - Part 79

Aside from possibly the Shackleton, and the various SAR helicopters, this aircraft was probably the one most often linked to Lossiemouth for many years, in both Navy and RAF service. I posted a few Navy ones a while back and here are some of their RAF counterparts.

The aircraft i mostly associate with Lossiemouth as when i started in the hobby they were a staple.

My early memories of Lossie always loved the Buccaneer.

Yip Lossie was Buccaneer central. During the 80’s and early 90’s, every NATO squadron wanted to fly with them and there was no shortage of exchanges and visits from overseas.

Yorkshire built. Like a brick convenience which is why it was called 'the Brick'. 353's unusual with that white nose cone (pre-sumably ex Navy).

Great subject, Alan, wish I had seen Buccaneers at Lossie ! Definitely a Brick Outhouse, especially after we had resolved it's Achilles heel

Hi F3. Not sure if that was an ex-Navy nose cone in pic No4 - think it was more likely to be one awaiting paint.

Ace pictures - thanks for sharing.

Started on the OCU in '88 and ended on 208 Sqn when the final jets left for the scrap yards and museums around the country.

Sitting on my desk right now is the ID tag for the canopy locking key for XV352 - my last momento of an epic aircraft.
