Although the fuel dump pipes are near the wingtips this could be excess fuel venting from the fuselage tanks as there will be a pressure vent port above the fuel tank in case of over-pressure of either fuel vapour or mixed with nitrogen blanket gas
Yes they did in the 70s 80s. I think it stopped after that I'm sure there was an incident somewhere that stopped it3Greens wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 1:10 pmGreat capture Mike![]()
Don't know if ever USAF F-111E/F's ever did it but the Aussies made a party trick with their F-111 of igniting fuel dumped from between the exhaust nozzles and trailing a 20' rocket flame![]()
For the air show crowd if you knew what to expect it was great, for those that didn't well scarey !

Also of note in this piece by the BBC is they name the pilot, I guess he must be nearing the end of his front line career, possibly moving to training or such like, Its unusual for a front line combat pilot to be named in the media, normally you just get his call signd555 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 8:50 amReported on the BBC

Well done that man for having the good sense to contact the base with his observations and potentially saving a pilots life.
Just shows us 'spotters are useful as an extra pair(s) of eyes.
