The Home of the Famous Flying Wiener

Post by Razzor01 » Thu Jan 28, 2021 1:37 pm

Going on from the excellent planes near restaurants / planes that are restaurants posts, here's one I tracked down back in 2009, with the aid of the compulsory USMOOS* by Andy Marden.
(*US Military Out Of Service)

Ita a Convair 240 located on North L Street, Tulare, California.

If only it were open when I visited I could have tried one of "Aero Dogs" "Famous Flying Wieners".

Looking forward to getting back out there when Covid is under control to hunt down more weird and wonderful things like this.

Cheers

Years ago, circa 1990, I visited Czechoslovakia and there was an IL18 in use as a bar in one place. Sadly it was scrapped a few years ago.

Hi all.

Its been pointed out to me that this is actually a Convair T-29A / 50-0193 - thanks, you know who you are.

Note to self: Should check the USMOOS before posting.

There a DC 3 outside of McDonalds in Lake Taupo New Zealand. Not in military colours though.
