Evening all. I'm Mike living in wildest Wiltshire, I spent most of my working life as a Firefighter now completely retired. My local base for many years was RAF Lyneham, sadly missed. I've been interested in aviation since I was a small lad in the early sixties mainly due to me having family on my Mothers side at Colerne in Wiltshire, of course the whole village was dominated by the aerodrome. Even when you could not see aircraft you could hear the sounds of aircraft ground running- mainly Hastings which does date me a bit! My Grandfather worked on base as a civvy employee for many years so we used to get free tickets to the Battle Of Britain shows which to a small boy were enthralling.

Hi all,
Geoff Duke, aka ArabJazzie here calling in for the third time i think!!! Currently live in Dundee with my wife n 4 kids and work at the wonderful Dundee Airport on the banks of the Tay. Can be regularly seen at Leuchars and Edinburgh with Aberdeen, Kinloss, Lossie, Glasgow, and Prestwick taken in when the mood, or movements tempts me. And i do like Civvie and Mil so can be seen over there too!

I may not be able to all the time, so will say now about the great photos ive seen on here and hope that my own can eventually match the best. The 3 threads ive put up so far have been well received so thank you all!
Arabest,
Geoff.
Hi Geoff! I’m a young avgeek, and spend multiple hours a week by the runway at Dundee airport. I have been considering putting in an expression of interest letter into the airport for a long time, to put myself forward for any job openings. I’ve never come across anyone who works there so I was excited when I read that you do! Do you recommend doing this, and is it as exciting as i’ve always imagined? I think that just to be in that environment would be riveting for me lol. If you want to share any info on your role and how you got in that would be fab! Thanks, Abby.

Hi! I’m Abby, I’ve had an account here for a couple years but have never posted until today. I got my interest in aviation from my dad at a young age, he’s probably here somewhere too :D I dabble in aircraft photography and keep a log of all the aircraft I have seen and been aboard. I’m not the best at these online forum things so feel free to keep me right if i’m posting under incorrect categories and such, lol! Glad to be part of the community :)

I am Daughter of Eddie Patterson sometimes known as Pat, which is way before I came along :P . My dad was from York/Harrogate Area and was in the 88 Squadron. He was born in 1936
I Would love to see if anyone has photos or to be pointed in the right direction for researching any records.
I currently live a few minutes away from RAF Leeming which I absolutely adore.
When my dad left thd RAF he was an HGV driver and my call sign when I was little through the CB Radio was Little Arrow :)

Thanks
Fiona

Heyo. Long time lurker, first time poster. Just had to reactivate my account after not needing it for a while.

I fix planes. Used to work on Hawks on 100 Squadron at RAF Leeming, now I work at Teesside Airport on a somewhat similar platform.

Cheers,
Alex

Hello Everyone
Quite new to modern day technologies now available for air enthusiasts but been a keen fan for the past 50 years. Bad news is that all my logs from the late 60's to early 80's are now in the big land fill some place. Sad i know but it is what it is! Still what a joy to track movements in flight if only back in the day.
Had a computor glitch and an email hack so quite likely i have been registered before.
Many thanks and a great site, well done to all involved.
Healeyneil
