Re: Russian aircraft drone attack
From the www
Why do the Russians put tires on their planes?
In the training data for teaching this computer vision software to recognize an aircraft, there is a good chance that things with car tires are classified as 'not planes'. These tires are a low-tech way to confuse a high-tech system.
Obviously a drone operator using his or her eyes won't be fooled. The Russians must be nervous that other trucks loaded with drones may have been smuggled into Russia?
It has been said many times that drones are changing the face of warfare - i was reading about how tank tactics had to change because of drones.

Re: Russian aircraft drone attack
Now we had that drone incident last year over our local American bases, and other bases in the world. Its not beyond the realms of possibility that one of these incidents could have been a practice for that mission
The RAF regiment being sent to investigate just being a cover story.....
Of course, its probably nothing to do with it.

They just happened to be at Honington prior to the incident, and at the time, and had also previously published a NOTAM :-)
