Ive not been for 4 years and i said i would never go again, but a good friend is coming up from the south and staying with me for acouple of nights, this and the fact the Thunderbirds will be flying im gonna go and enjoy it

Im not bothered about anything else attending, i dont want to speak with pilots and my job depends on me not being violent so id be more than happy if any member of the services stays away from me, then i wont get tempted to do something i'll regret :grr:

No, i'll just sit down in good company and enjoy USAF's finest, in fact i'll be more interested in what machines Roger Tuby's bringing this year :D

Yes exactly, an RC-135 flying past - something that we can see at Mildenhall any time, and yet they can't even hang-on to a Nimrod for a few days to give the type a public send-off at the show? Hmm...

I do understand where you are coming from about the Nimrod, but i can't get to Mildenhall like most can so i am looking forward to the flypast

But i must say im pleased i was right when i posted that the E3-D, Sentinel and a "special guest" would be flying and that i thought the Guest would be the RC-135

Yes I can't get to mildenhall either have only seen 1 Kc-135 flying and one rc-135 which was static, not all of us have the luxury of going round the country, especially when mildenhall is a good way away from gateshead.

I see both the Nimrod's have been also added to static. Shame their demise couldn't be delayed a bit longer. At least can get a few shots on the ground :)

Indeed, I was just looking at that. Confirmation (if it was needed) that they can't even fly one for the show. Just ridiculous. So that's a Vulcan and the Thunderbirds...

Sheff Just shut up moaning... Be Grateful for what they get, If you went to The Airshow office You would see how much work is put in to the show and the long process of getting a Act.

Well decided that I am going now will there be tickets available to buy in the day I presume?. I always book in advance but was not sure If I was going this year.

Sally B I am really looking forward to think the last time I seen that fly was about 19 years ago.

Thunderbirds I have seen at Mildenhall again about 19 years ago may even have been 20 years ago not sure if it was air fete 91 or 92 I was there.

I am still confident there is some more to be added to the static line up.Most RAF shows will ook bare this year as most had 5+ F3's and again 5+ Gr4's plus a couple of harriers added in.So really due to cut backs you lose at least 12 aircraft straight way.

So now I am looking forward to going me and my dad it is really about the only time we see each other for long periods is at air shows so will be good.

Good Lord, do some people seriously still think this? Wonder what it'll take before the die-hards finally realise that we're being sold a proverbial lemon.

Are we sure it's both 664 and 249?

Just thinking about 665, is she in pieces now or mostly intact still?

Why does the work-load of the air show staff have anything to do with it? Do you buy your groceries on the basis of how hard the cashiers work at Marks & Spencers?

This thread is descending into pure arguments at the moment and has been brought to the Staff's attention.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter what that opinion may be.
