Although 43C901 does not agree with that used for ground runs at the end of April (E483D2)?

Brazilian ZH962 Was out on the ramp at 08:30. I wonder if this is now "43C901". Haven't seen anything that could possibly be a different Brazilian yet.

The Norwegian's use part of the build number as the side number. AW101's have build numbers in the 50000 range.
Build number 50262 is ZZ100 and will be 0262
50264 is ZZ101 and will be 0264
50265 was ZZ102 and became 0265
50266 was ZZ103 and became 0266
50270 is ZZ104 and will be 0270
50273 will be ZZ105 and then 0273
50275 will be ZZ106 and then 0275
The remainder will be consecutive.
Hope that helps.

I think you are right Malcolm 43C901 is ZH962/N-4001
E483D2 is the Brazilian code for N-4004 and will be allocated a 43C code when it starts test flying. (we shall see in time)
Thanks for correcting me.

Keith

The Lynx took off just as I arrived back at Yeovil as WHE02 at about 14:00, awaiting its return. Wish I’d refuelled AFTER checking the field now. ZJ122 took off after it as WHE03 but returned quite quickly.

Hi Folks.

Colleague of mine was doing a delivery to Leonardo Friday(missed the NOW by 30 mins!)
As he was on the ramp(in his truck) he was able to see into one of the production hangars, says he saw 4 AW series in primer, two of which according to his escort were for Norway, the others he wouldn't elaborate.
Of course the question is, what frames did he see. Said none were complete so unlikely to have flown as yet.

Thought the Norwegians were only getting 101s? The Coastguard are receiving aw189?

Interesting.

There is one more AW189 for the Coast Guard which has been registered (G-MCGX) but not yet flown.

There are also six AW101's which were part of the Indian contract were cancelled and never delivered to alternative customers.
Two of these were completed and flown ZR339 and ZR342 (photo's available) the status of the other four (ZR346 to ZR349) is unknown but may have been part completed.
Maybe some of these have now been sold but not yet made public. Time will tell

OK thanks for that, I'll ask him again and hope he's more accurate this time. Choppers are not his strong point.

As was pointed out 2 years ago, there are some interesting gaps in the AW-101 construction number sequence. UK serials currently has :
50260 ZR355 AgustaWestland AW.101 611 HH-101 For AMI as MM81867
50261 ZR356 AgustaWestland AW.101 611 HH-101 For AMI as MM81868
50262 ZZ100 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 f/f 21/03/2016, for RNoAF 0262
50263 ZR357 AgustaWestland AW.101 611 HH-101 For AMI as MM81869
50264 ZZ101 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 f/f 17/08/2016, for RNoAF 0264
50265 ZZ102 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 d/d 19/01/2018 to RNoAF as 0265
50268 ZZ103 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 d/d 17/11/2017 to RNoAF as 0268, accident 24/11/2017
50270 ZZ104 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 f/f 17/01/2018, d/d 25/05/2018 to RNoAF as 0270
50273 ZZ105 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 For RNoAF 0273
50275 ZZ106 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 For RNoAF 0275
50276 ZZ107 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 For RNoAF 0276
50277 ZZ108 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 For RNoAF 0277
50278 ZZ109 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 For RNoAF 0278
50279 ZZ110 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 For RNoAF 0279
50280 ZZ111 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 For RNoAF 0280
50281 ZZ112 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 For RNoAF 0281
50282 ZZ113 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 For RNoAF 0282
50283 ZZ114 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 For RNoAF 0283
50284 ZZ115 AgustaWestland AW.101 612 For RNoAF 0284
We're still none the wiser as to what cn's 50266/67/69/71/72/74 are or will be, with no additional export orders being announced. There has been a long gap (almost 6 months) since the last Norwegian (ZZ104) rolled out in early Dec 2017. Now ZZ104 has been delivered hopefully a few new ones will appear in the next few weeks.

Last time I saw the cancelled Indians (several years ago) they were all in the back of the production hangar - the one behind B&Q. If your mate was on the main flight-line then the hangar he was looking into is the flight-shed.

Maybe a phone call to the Saudis to see if they fancy a few more, maybe offer them to a few other cash rich Arab states
