DHFS SQUIRRELS & GRIFFINS

A few Squirrels have started to be put back on the civil register with their original registrations as part of the types withdrawal process from DHFS operations. Rumour I heard was some at least are off to Canada.

G-BXCE registered 28/11/17 (ex ZJ256)
G-BXGB registered 14/11/17 (ex ZJ260)
G-BXIL registered 30/11/17 (ex ZJ266)
G-BXJN registered 30/11/17 (ex ZJ269)
G-BXLB registered 20/11/17 (ex ZJ275)

G-BXCE, BXGB, BXIL & BXLB have all been deregistered and transferred to the USA

G-BXJN is still current on the register

Squirrels ZJ255, ZJ262, ZJ270, ZJ274 & ZJ278 all departed DHFS duties at Shawbury on route to Bournmouth Hurn for storage and presumably sale.

Griffin ZJ238 provided a crew ferry back.

All the above 5 AS350BB Squirrels were put back onto the civil register on the 27th February 2018 as G-BXAG, BHXB,BXJR,BXKR & BXMB respectively.

All the above 5 AS350BB Squirrels were put back onto the civil register on the 27th February 2018 as G-BXAG, BHXB,BXJR,BXKR & BXMB respectively.

ZJ273, 279 departed to Hurn for store as Shawbury52 Combine' along with ZJ280 as 'Shawbury28'

Crew ferry was provided by Griffin ZJ238 as 'Shawbury102'

23rd March

ZJ272 & 277 departed to Hurn for store as 'Shawbury76 Combine'

Squirrel ZJ268 providing the crew ferry as 'Shawbury38'

Some HT2's also went to Hurn from Middle Wallop I understand ZJ245,249 & 253 with ZJ244 as Crew ferry.

That leaves the following at Shawbury

ZJ264, ZJ267, ZJ268, ZJ271.

All except ZJ271 have been noted today from ADSB. ZJ271 possibly being wfu.

The HT2s also arrived on the 22nd. As well as the Squirrels, ZJ235 Griffin arrived on the 21st for storage as did ZJ239 on the 19th though this one was by road

2 Griffins were flown from Shawbury to Hurn today for store.

ZJ236/X & ZJ237/T as 'Shawbury 94 combine' with Squirrel ZJ264 following as a crew ferry as 'Shawbury46'

4 Squirrels and 4 Griffin remain at Shawbury I understand.

Any idea if ZK199 (G-DOIT) and ZK200 (G-CEYO) are still st Shawbury? Also do you know if the wreckage’s of ZJ258 ZJ259 & ZJ263 are still kicking about?

No there are 4 Squirrels as above. Those two odd ball Squirrels were sold a while back to ZK-IFI & ZK-IDR. No clue as to the wreckages as Shawbury is now TOTALLY anti spotter, you would be supprised as to the goings on.

Many thanks I appreciate it. I had heard Shawbury was very anti-spotter, a shame really as the visits were excellent.

Do you have a departure date for ZJ269 (G-BXJN) I noticed it doesn’t seem to have been sold to the states?
