Quick update ZZ415 shut down again with an apparent engine issue.

Afraid not. After shutdown the Pilot was looking intently at the starboard engine exhaust. Subsequently a couple of technicians came out and opened up various inspection panels, but by the time we left at 1 pm there had been no further attempts to start the engine(s) or to fly it.

Hi all,

I called in yesterday for the first time ever but didn't manage to see anything.

Although I didn't manage to find a spot to see the flightline from.

I am planning to call back in on Friday to have another go.

Is anyone able to advise the best spot to see the flightline from please?

Thanks

Carl

Fridays are often quiet. Mornings are busier than afternoons, and often everything is put away by 2pm.

Friday 27th October 2017
Out on a blue bird but chilly ramp At 08:45 were :
ZJ127/L Merlin HC
ZZ415 Wildcat HMA2 "Royal Navy"

OTT with a huge trail WNW bound was a grey camo B707/KC135 type. ADSB suggests this was RCH485 KC135R 58-0085.

Cheers

I didn't manage to get to Yeovil until 4pm today which obviously turned out to be too late too see anything.

I was able to see the front of the hangars from one of the mentioned locations to see from.

Sadly it may be a couple of years before I get the chance to head back down to Yeovil again.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks Bob. I didn't see the Merlin depart, and the Gazelle arrived before the Merlin and left after it arrived, after the crew had 'had a cup of tea'.
Could this be the first Crowsnest conversion then?
