Spanish Typhoon crash

Post by Vulcanone » Tue Aug 24, 2010 11:30 am

Sad but rather sketchy news coming via PPRune is that a Spanish two seater has crashed at Moron this morning, the Spanish instructor ejected safely the Saudi student didn't, and was sadly killed.

Eurofighter Typhoon crash 24/08/10

Post by hoddy82 » Tue Aug 24, 2010 11:35 am

I have just found out that a Typhoon has crashed in spain one pilot has died. Please read cut out below

Saudi pilot killed Eurofighter crash in Spain: ministry
A Saudi lieutenant colonel died Tuesday when his Eurofighter crashed shortly after takeoff on a training flight from Spain's southern Moron air base, the Spanish defence ministry said.

The warplane went down after taking off from the air base outside Seville around 9:30 am (0730 GMT), and while the Spanish flight instructor was able to eject and sustained only minor injuries, the Saudi pilot was killed, the ministry said.

Not sure this was the correct page to put it on but as it is breaking news?

Apparently the Lt Col was on a visit to mark the signing of a training contract between the two nations - very sad.
