Gatwick Aviation Museum - Saudi Lightning event

Post by flat cap » Thu May 25, 2017 9:04 am

Long time, no post. Gatwick Museum had an event on Saturday to show off ZF579 in it's engine running splendour. A fantastic museum that really deserves a visit. The Lightning ran up on both engines with no known issues. The Bucc is due for a complete strip down taking 3 years. Enjoy.

Three classic beauties of British aircraft production. Nicely caught too. Thanks for posting.

I work at the other end of the airport, might have to take an extended lunch break for a shufti. Lightning looks ready to go, brilliant.

This is great news, saves the long drive up to Brunty to experience a Lightning engine run, if they manage to get it into reheat, the locals will think Concorde has returned to Gatwick
