Ah, that was supposed to be repainted in October, clearly didn't happen if it was at Marham in January!

Would love to see that
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
349 Squadron have got a new special tail, released yesterday. Wouldn't mind catching it at RIAT.

Presume it's a way of saying 'good addition'.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
I have it on good authority (don't you just hate it when people say that, lol!!) that its in progress and will be unveiled in June.MRTT wrote:Ah, that was supposed to be repainted in October, clearly didn't happen if it was at Marham in January!

Thanks for that Mark, 349 have released a special tail today, not a Tiger though, either one will do IMO.

Sadly that was its last operational flight in that awesome livery. One or 2 weeks after that flight it flew to SABCA for its big maintenance/upgrade and that include it's going to be repainted in the new low visitility paint like the one below:MRTT wrote:Ah, that was supposed to be repainted in October, clearly didn't happen if it was at Marham in January!

Great update!
Always like the F-16 displays and love the paint scheme too.
Finally a nice surprise in the Sea King display, not usually one for helicopter displays but this is probably the last chance to see one flying.
Will it be in the same colour scheme as the photos posted by RIAT in the email?

Yes, unless it's the special scheme, would prefer a camo bird though.
Hungarian Gripen down to attend a show in the UK this year, not clear which one, yet.

Camo one would be awesome and a change to the usual drab.
Hungarian Gripen would be a good addition, if the TBC get confirmed then we're in for another nice year of variation of jet displays!

3/4 of the Belgian Kings still flying are painted in a camo scheme, the other is painted in an all black special scheme and has been for the past 11 years or so!
Agree, Hungarian Gripen was one of the stars back in '13.

40 Sqn have three MK48 left active, RS-02 & RS-04 in the cool camo scheme, RS-05 is the black scheme.
Also for the record, the squadron operate three NH90-NFH, RN01,RN02 and RN03 with a fourth due for delivery shortly
