I've heard it and i'm not to impressed with it.
Been into them since 88 and each album they've gone more mainstream sounding, some better than others.
This new album is just pop music apart from two or three songs.
They've gone worse since John Frusciante left, hardly any riffs in the album.

Like all new albums it does take several plays to absorb the tracks, but the more I heard the new album the more I liked it.
You can certainly notice the big change in the lead guitar playing styles, but that's not a bad thing as the overall sound most definitely has Red Hot Chili Peppers written all over it.

And there's plenty more where that came from!

Thursday night for an evening of wrestling and Jim Jones and The Righteous Mind in Peckham. Proper rock n' roll mayhem.

Yeah the more times you play it the more you usually get into it.
Not saying it's bad, just that i preferred them when they where less mainstream, when they had a more powerfull sound.

Off to Womad this weekend, couldn't really tell you who's going to be good and worth seeing, but that's the point, always some superb surprises.

I went to see Level 42 (yet again :D ) on their 'Sirens II' tour on Saturday night at the Ipswich Regent.
They were absolutely brilliant, spot on with the performance & the sound, and boy were they loud!.. You could actually feel the floor shaking from the basslines :thumb:.

There are still a few dates left this year & I'd highly recommend them (well, they are my favourite band)... http://www.level42.com/event-listing/

You not gonna believe this, but I saw Sabbath At Lancaster Uni. decades ago and I fell asleep in the middle of the Great Hall. No such thing for The Who earlier in 1970; the crowd in the centre weren't touching the floor, they were like a keystone there was that many there.

Great stuff, yeah I believe you.I''m old enough to remember that rock bands back in the day actually payed their dues by playing everywhere, and I mean everywhere.
Unlike the bands of today who get millions of followers on twitter and facebook and only play in arenas and stadiums more or less overnight.
I've be seen Iron Maiden play Preston Guildhall and Manchester Apollo a few times over various tours.
My mum's seen The Beatles and The Rolling Stones play the Public Hall in Preston when they started off.
