Still keeping the faith that we will get a sweet update tomorrow with some US heavies. Even if not, still buzzing for RIAT! Roll on Wednesday

I see FIA has(TBC) a USN MH60 listed as well a a US Army CH47D & USAF F16CJ(SP?). Now they would be great additions to the Static at RIAT

Flying prevails whenever a man and his airplane are put to a test of maximum performance.

What the US have sent to RIAT is remarkable.

There's still an embargo on US based assets flying in air displays outside the US I believe ever since the sequestration a few years ago if my memory serves. Apparently the Raptor and F-35 is being funded and brought to us by the manufacturer.lynx77 wrote:No Buff, C5, C17, A10, U2 not even any Spang F16. Disappointing.
I'm very happy with what we have got at this show. The only thing missing for me would be the Mig-29s or a Backfire for good measure.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2016 Discussion Thread
So why did Berlin get a Buff & a Bone this year

No idea, perhaps they were on operational sorties similar to the Buff that would've flown past Cosford had it not been for a low cloud ceiling.welshandy wrote:So why did Berlin get a Buff & a Bone this year
I thought the Mig's had been cancelled? Hoorah just gets better!

Just to help clarify it was the Slovakian Mig-29s, 1xStatic, 1xFlying that were cancelled, Polish Mig-29 is definitely flying, can't remember if that was the original plan where it was announced together with the Slovakian Mig-29s but it certainly is now.quid21 wrote:No idea, perhaps they were on operational sorties similar to the Buff that would've flown past Cosford had it not been for a low cloud ceiling.welshandy wrote:So why did Berlin get a Buff & a Bone this year

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2016 Discussion Thread
Perhaps because the US Ambassador is in Berlin and it was therefore good PR. He certainly spent a lot of time with it plus guest's.welshandy wrote:So why did Berlin get a Buff & a Bone this year
Sorry if off topic!

I see there is a Turkish AF KC135 arriving tomorrow with the F16 (s). Is it going on the static for the weekend or disappearing again. ?
Cheers
