Battle of Britain Hurricane ID?

Post by waghorn41 » Fri Jul 24, 2015 1:19 pm

I'm trying to find the code for P2979 of 111 Squadron at Drem in September 1940, presumably JU-?

My uncle was scrambled in this Hurri on 30th September and so joined the ranks of 'The Few' and I'd like to make a model of it.

No idea but found this.....P/O P.O.D.Allcock of No 229 Squadron was wounded on the 23rd of September 1940. He baled out of his Hurricane I (P2979) over Hoo in Kent at 10:50hrs after being shot down

So if thats correct he wasn't in that airframe????

Hope you find the info you're after.
