Cobra, Moose and Sam. Mildenhall 11/12/14.

Post by billydog » Thu Dec 11, 2014 7:36 pm

I was greeted with a hail/sleet storm when i opened the curtains this morning, but with an RC-135S 'Cobra Ball' on the deck at Mildenhall and the C32 'SAM 745' due to depart, i dragged myself over to the local for a couple of hours.

Glad i made the effort, as the storm passed just as i arrived and the sun burst through, just long enough to light up the C32 and a following C17 'Moose' departures.
Sadly the Cobra didn't get the same treatment, but still great to have these amazing aircraft passing through.

What a post, the first one looks superb low down, with great lighting, and the Tornado ones are so sharp, but the highlight has got to be the Cobra Ball, fantastic in any weather

Those first 5 show up really well Justin, :) in light that just couldn't be bettered. The silver lining for cold and bad weather ,is that once in a lifetime glow you get in relflection, from the light in Winter, when the sun decides to pop and the picture in the viewfinder looks real good.. :thumb:

I'm green with envy!!! Would love to have had the chance to shoot the Cobra Ball. The C-32 also looks super in that lovely early morning light. Thanks for sharing these - top work.

Lovely set  The C32 was a bit distant when he crossed the Humber Estuary northbound just after 9, and the 'Cobra Ball' hooked up to 'QID84' were just lost in the 7/8 cloud as they passed :@
Thanks very much for posting
