My guess would be wally there Armed forces personal of some sort being transported somewhere in large 4x4 trucks nothing to unusual about that really... summer camp for cadets? Maybe they were on there way out to preddannck to use the firing range? ?
Either that or its an invading force moving inland, and big brothers not telling us! !!

If they are on their way to Predannack firing range hope they don't shoot any unsuspecting spotters shooting the resident wrecks.......

Wally,
Just how long have you lived in the Helston area? Military vehicles loaded with troops have been traversing the area for as long as I ca n remember, wether it's for an exercise at
Predannack, beach landing at Porthoustock or just out for a jolly from Penhale camp. The possibilities are. Endless. Let's leave the forum to military aircraft movements.

there has been an army landrover ambulance and a truck load of army personel each day for the last couple of weeks going and returning from the pz direction, which i dont think is normal.
Re: army/navy 4x4's
I see them quite often, along with the odd MT coach. Probably going down to the adventure training centre that the MOD own between St Just and Lands End. Marines use it quite often for cliff climbing as well.defender 110 wrote:there has been an army landrover ambulance and a truck load of army personel each day for the last couple of weeks going and returning from the pz direction, which i dont think is normal.

Hi all,
Just to let you all know that 'MT' in Royal Naval parlance refers to 'Motor Transport' - in the 'old days' it would refer to the old style British Leyland Sherpas (around 1985 - I personally have experienced this, so I know! - they were extremely uncomfortable and shaky vans with a row of continuous seats on either side, and for the most part, similar to the feel of a Land Rover!) and in the 'very' old days (i.e. the 1960's), it would be a navy blue Bedford van with 'ROYAL NAVY' in white, written across it!! --Paul
