Did my eyes deceive me or did I just see a primer Merlin with nose ball heading EAST between Glastonbury and Wells at 10.50am ?

AW test flights rarely come this way.

UPDATE - thanks to Cessna for SBS ID on this movement as Italian example ZR353 - maybe off on live weapon trials ?

Noted 25/9/14 13:00

(ZH860) Merlin HM tiger scheme, serial presumed
ZK191 Lynx Mk140 Algerian navy
ZR352/15-01 Merlin HH-101 Italian AF
ZR353 Merlin HH-101 primer
ZZ387 WildcatAH1 arrived

There was a further 'old' Lynx inside so maybe ZK192, but will have to wait for that one to be sure.

They don't seem to rush themselves here as ZR353 has now been in primer for getting on 3 months, and there was me hoping it was another one!

I was told the plan is to leave all future Merlins in primer untill shortly before delivery so that they don't need re-painting if the paintwork gets damaged/dirty during flight testing. The only reason ZR352 was painted was for the publicity photos at the "Hand over" and Farnborough. ZR352 and 353 are apparantly due to stay here for a while yet, and ZR354 onwards will probably be delivered to Italy first.

Visual out the window - an Army Wildcat. There was one on the ramp at 09:00 which I couldn't read properly - looked like ZZ380 or '390.

ZR344 Merlinn for Nigeria out on the ramp at 09:00.
