Airday Week

Post by DaveG » Tue Jul 22, 2014 1:03 pm

Well managed to get the whole week off, so plan is to visit the viewing area(s) often. (as long as road works have gone.)

See you all around I'm sure.
For those not knowing me, its Black Fiesta with 6'2" Scotsman inside, Come say hello.

On the actual Airday, anyone know the plan for parking? Hoping its not the same mess as last year! Getting into the field was easy, getting out was a nightmare. May think about walking!

Don't even dream driving out there on the day, Dave. I have a gut feeling it will be heaving this year.

Will certainly be either at the viewing area or the lay-bys on the road on the day before, will have to see what other days I can make it in.

Perfectly true Sir! Shame the third musketeer is on duty this year! Hopefully St.Ives brewery will be there again!

I got the 3 days of Dave so see you out there. Plan is (depending on which end there landing at.) To catch any earlier arrivals before going on camp for the afternoon.
Walk out there on the day. And as stated can then have a wee little one! in the mess tent. Then back out for departures Friday morning. ;)

Cool, see you all then at some point. Pete decided not to do the arrivals tour this year, so will be at one of the spots depending on wind. never thought about having a drink until you mentioned it either Roy ;-) but does sound like a plan...

Splendid news old boy. I knew you wouldn't let the tradition die easy! So a convivial afternoon beckons!

Good evening gents. Just for info thought that you might like to know that the spectators enclosure road will be blocked off for residents only on the big day. To gain access you would need to mug one of the said residents, and they are a pretty rough, ugly bunch!!

looks like a plan is under way, beer and aircraft allways go well together, and it will be good to catch up with new and old freinds on the day

I hope to see you all next week. I'm intending to come down for the media day on the Wednesday and air day. Mark (Centaurus18) will also be around.
I will be attending with my better half IF, I can find somewhere to stay.

Looks to be a really good show this year. :D

I am hoping to be around on the Wednesday either in the viewing area or some other vantage point. Sadly I have to be Wales on the Thursday. Depending on the SWMBO's plans I might even make a visit on the Tues too. Can't make departures as we are down to Dover for SWMBO's channel swim training, the actual swim is looming up fast.
