Re: Yesterday (July 17th)
That's a wonderful log of 1948, Toplist. Would love to see some of your others, my 50th anniversary of this mad hobby is celebrated on 08/08/14.
Re: Yesterday (July 17th)
I can, of course, come up with further very old log notes, if that would be of interest. My reason for posting in this instance hinged on the fact that my very first notes for Leuchars resonated with the date. July 17th, In this instance, July 17th 1948!
If it doesn't clog up the system, then I will provide further logs for Leuchars in 1950 and 1951. I was a pupil at my Stalag (Boarding School) in Perthshire between 1946 and 1951, so visits were severely limited. But I'll include two separate lists before the second Typhoon squadron moves out to Lossiemouth.
Good to know that there are some other "oldies" on FC!

Re: Yesterday (July 17th)
Great to see the log for '48. My dad was a national serviceman engine fitter on 120 Sqn Lancs at Leuchars 1948-49 so fascinating to find out what he would have been immersed in.
