RAF Fairford Exercise Salty Hammer & Central Enterprise 1995

Post by N48284 » Wed May 28, 2014 8:18 pm

Seeing as we are expecting Exercise Sabre Strike at RAF Fairford during the next couple of weeks, I thought i would post a few scans from the deployment for Exercise's Salty Hammer and Central Enterprise from June 1995 which saw 4 B-52Hs from 96BS/2BW at Barksdale and 8 F-111Fs from 523FS/27FW at Cannon deployed to Fairford during June 1995.

All were taken at the evening photocall which they always used to organise when they had a deployment at the base.
All scanned from Fuji Sensia 100 slide film and scanned on Canoscan 9000F

Thanks for looking.
Andy.

Brilliant, only if they could do this for Sabre Strike.

I remember that evening well - and in particular the throngs of people who turned up. I think the USAF were a bit overwhelmed at the huge queue of people waiting to get on the buses for transport out onto the ramp. Great evening though and super to be able to look around all the aircraft and chat to the crews.
