Sony Xperia mate. It`s ok and Bond di use it in his last film, but the pic quality isn`t always perfect.

Moving on...., the SE5a is now pretty much complete.......,

..... just have the rigging to complete..!!!!!

Not too much change on the Hawk. Will complete the cockpit, add the canopy and then off to the `paint shop`.

This was my very first attempt at rigging and the one thing I learned from it was this. Given the choice of building and rigging 10 biplane models or having a hot poker placed where the sun does not shine......, I`ll take the hot poker everytime...!!! :D

This was a nightmare at times and well outside my comfort level. Probably need a bit more practice some might say, but Im just glad no one does a Gloster Gauntlet or hawker Demon plastic kit in 1/48. Admittedly I have the Avro 504 in the stash but I think Ill be waiting until my blood pressure drops before visting that one.

Anyways, here she is and I`m glad to be getting back to the Hawk.

I am not jealous at all :@

Cheers guys. :)

..... however your words bring little comfort as I had a disaster with the Hawk canopy last night. It`s fogged up badly and is completely useless to me now. Just glad I was able to get it off without to much trouble to the rest of the kit. Email sent to Airfix spares department so i hope they can supply me with one soon.

Anyhoo...., that means that while it`s on the back burner, I can get on with this.....

Can`t add this to the 80`s GB as 74 operated the type from Jan 1991.

Oh another Phantom - great choice TC.

Ref the canopy - sounds like glue problems to me - I always stick mine with PVA

Looking forward to this next build

The FGR.2 story so far.....,

Image

Kinda speaks for itself.

And while await Airfix to get back to me about a spare canopy and having a bit of time in between gets bits done on the Phantom, it seemed rude not to progress on the Hawk which is painted and has the black tail applied.

Gloss and decals next.

With a touch of `man flu` and sorting out all the admin for the up coming `2014 Whiiffie Awards`, the `toom and Hawk have been left a little neglected.

So this evening I`ve done a few bits and bobs.

Hawk first. Decals now applied although I`m awaiting a bit of help on missing fin flash, but it`s nice to see my personal Tiger mount taking shape....,

Image

In other news, the Phantom is slowly getting there. A bit of light sanding needed and again I`m awaiting some Barley Grey before painting begins.

Image

Hopefully these and a BoB Spit will all be ready in time.

Hi TC :P

Both coming along nicely ;)

I remember when the Lightnings wore Barley Grey back in the '80's :)

So until the new canopy arrives, this is as far as I can go with the Hawk.

The Phantom FGR.2 is in the paint shop and I`m already looking at the next `Tiger`.

Let`s call him BoB...... :D

Cheers Alan. :)

The Hawk canopy arrived yesterday so finished pictures are now in the gallery..., (well after I finish this particular post anyway...)

The FGR.2 is now at this stage.
