Re: The Mother of all Typhoons
Nice to see this important frame on public display.
Paddy - not doubting you but I don't have her in my 1988 Farnborough log but I do for 1986 so even older - 27 years ago so makes me feel even older now!

I also saw it at Farnboro'. I can't remember the date, but then I did suffer from amnesia once but I can't remember when that was.............. Best wishes Patrick.

Re: The Mother of all Typhoons
Being another 'old timer' / 'grey beard' - I too remember seeing EAP at the 1986 Farnborough Show.
I seem to remember it also appeared at the 1987 Paris show as well - I have a pic on Flickr of a DC-6 (G-SIXC) that BAe used to transport support equipment to that show.
Some one who worked at Warton at the time told me they used a lot of off-the-shelf equipments and bits (mainly Tornado) e.g. fin (with a refroliling of the top) and radome to keep down costs. The 'missiles' were dummies bolted on (not mounted of ejector racks).
All in all not a bad looking jet - and one of the few types to exceed M1 on the first flight
