It's good to see the Martlet back on display at Yeovilton after so long in the restoration shop.

I know that it's not everybody's cup of tea but I like the way the FAAM conserve as well as restore.

I have got the very same photos !!! I went there to see it last Saturday, they have done a great job on it, not sure if I like the colours or not, I think it looked better in blue. Also did you notice that they have changed the Gannet on the carrier deck ? The AEW3 XL503 has been swopped for COD4 XA466/777LM, good to see that one again out and about from Cobham Hall,

New scheme is good, different from the more normally seen dark blue.

How can people not like the new scheme? It's the authentic Martlet I scheme, unlike the 60s applied dark blue?

Just a pity the original fuselage finish wasn't suitable/available (I've heard different stories) for them not to have to repaint it.

If it's authentic, which I understand it is, then there can be no complaints. I applaud the FAAM's approach to conservation as they've done on the Corsair and Martlet but I know from my time as a Director and Trustee of an aircraft museum you can't please all the people.
