Re: Aviation Patches
If anyone is interested in trading patches, i have pictures of almost all my traders in a couple of Facebook photoalbums (USAF/US Navy/ European air forces):

I'm interested in patches of European air forces squadrons in return.

Re: Aviation Patches
Hi Guys,
Just wondering if any of you have any ideas on the value of Ace Novelty patches?
I've got a couple of mint F-101 'Ace Novelty' patches with the blue labels on the back & just wondered what they might be worth?
Any info would be great.
Cheers,
TankBuster

Its hard to say but Ace Novelty patches usually make more than if it was an ordinary patch.TankBuster wrote:Hi Guys,

Re: Aviation Patches
Hello forum,
can anybody help ID'ing this particular patch? I assume it's an AWACS related patch but the two jets look suspiciously like Navy fighters.... any ideas, thoughts or even a positive ID?

Thanks for all your help in advance.
Happy collecting
Andy
PS: If anybody is interested in USAF patches, I have compiled a listing of subdued non-flying USAF unit patches available as I no longer collect those and want to downsize my collection. If intersted, please send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll get the list out to you. The list is in MS Excel 2003 format.

Re: Aviation Patches
Hi all,
I'm new to the patch scene, and have been picking up a few Mildenhall related items recently. Having trouble finding these two though:

100th ARW by jut73, on Flickr

352nd SOG by jut73, on Flickr
I've tried e-bay and so far nothing has come up, so if anyone out there knows where i can get either of them, or even better still, has one or both for sale, i'd love to hear from you!

The jets look like F-22's with the canted out tail fins.

The patch looks like a typical 1980s Korean made patch and I doubt they had the F-22 in mind. As it's rather crudely made, I suspect (or guess) the "stylized" fighters just got a bit out of shape since the AWACS isn't really detailled either. Of course I could be all wrong. In any way I do appreciate your ideas and input!
Cheers

My latest additions, recently aquired from the US.
These were obtained from an ex member of the 81st TFW so they're pretty special to me

Could anyone help to identify this patch please? I think it represents a U2 and given the crown and orange centre, I wonder if it has a connection with the Netherlands?
I'm no expert on on RNLAF patches but it looks like a class patch, probably pilot class patch with teh 69B... that used to be typical pilot class designations in the 60s and 70s if I'm not mistaken. I used to own a few USAF Pilot Training Class patches that had the similar designation, just the last two digits of the year plus a letter...
Hope this helps in some way.

Hello Justin,
Going back to your post on the 100th ARW & the 352nd SOG patch. I'm sorry to be picky but the 352nd one that you have a picture of is one from RAF Alconbury days. How can you tell, simple if you know, it has the AFSOC command star on the patch, & they were removed when they moved to Mildenhall. I hope this helps.

Re: Aviation Patches
Thanks for the info on the 352nd patch - they must have a stash of old stock then as I picked up one with the star at the American Air Day at Duxford this year. They were selling them out of the back of one of the 352nd Hercs therebillydog wrote:Cheers for the info Tronk 11.Tronk 11 wrote:Hello Justin,

Re: Aviation Patches
Belgian air force class 69B, never understood which aircraft type was pictured on the patch (probably a total drawing failure)doodlebug wrote:I will not be able to get to Mildenhall for the 8th, bought some nice patches from Ian at the last meet, and hope it goes well.

Re: Aviation Patches
Hi roberto
Looking at the patch... i would say a F104 in a crude fashion, it as the cockpit and nose like one and there is an hint of a T tail present that extends backwards not forwards as it does on the real thing and it also appears to have stubby wings which also fits well with the F104.
Just my oppion, could well be wrong though.

Hi Tankbuster.
Those four patches look like recent repros. 2 of them are currently available on ebay. Check out http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/0782-Vietnam- ... 519c9a421b" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for pics of originals.

Thanks for the info. The two lower ones in the picture are modern repros of the originals, that I know for sure.bathtub wrote:TankBuster wrote:My latest additions, recently aquired from the US.

The 81ST SPS Skull patch & the Bulldog are hand embroidered patches which were a one off manufacture copied from the originals. These were made by a lady at RAF Bentwaters for one of the 81st Law Enforcement Officers back in the late 1980's. They were passed on to me via a family member of the guy who originally had them made. Unfortunately he passed away earlier this year which is why I now have them.
