Mustang?

Post by paddyboy » Mon Aug 13, 2012 3:35 pm

Hi Peeps :P

Was over Shotesham (just south of Norwich) yesterday pm, and could swear I heard and saw (in the distance) what looked like a Mustang doing a few manoevres and tight turns :S

Am I going insane (as Ozzy said) or can anyone shed any light :S

Sure it was not a senior moment, but as I was running a BBQ for 14 peeps at the time, I could not leave the scran to get cremated (as usual  )

Any intel would be good ;)

Hi,
This may be a longshot but im sure 2 mustangs headed Norwich direction on Sunday lunchtime, i heard them, but by time i'd got outside they were quite a way over,so identifying them was hard, but sure its what they both were. They were heading from south west to north east, just north of Haughley/Bacton....
hope this helps, i'm curious as to where they from/going to

Thanks for the intel guys :P

She was defo a singleton; because of the sun position, I could not see if she was d-day marked :@

Thought there were still two at Hardwick ;)

Someone was having a great time anyways; just nice to hear that lovely Packard merlin growl as he/she hurled it round

Best regards

There is indeed a pair of Mustangs based at Hardwick, and owned (& flown) by Maurice Hammond.
He has 44-13521 (G-MRLL) 'Marinell' and 45-15118 (G-MSTG) 'Janie'.
Both have invasion markings on them, but if you see them airborne, the easiest way to tell them apart is that Marinell has red markings on nose and tail, and Janie has Yellow markings.
Heres a shot i got of them together at Rougham Air Show in 2011 . . . .
