It is definately a fake:

(1) The sun is obviously high - so where is the shadow from the smoke (last time I checked, red smoke gave a black shadow)
(2) Full flaps - hmmmmm, not for takeoff
(3) Landing light is on - this is interlinked with the gear being down on most aircraft isn't it?

As people have said, it is a good effort - but like the little green man caught on live Peruvian TV, it is a fake

Quite a lot of people think that, but no, you can deploy the lights separately on most aircraft

The video is great - but it has a major flaw:

The silhoeutte for the cameraman in the film is right out infront of him, ie sun low behind - but in the photo of the jet, the sun is high.

I must admit that it is really well done, and all points to the crew for trying!!

That is indeed true, however it does not explain my reasonings...

Take a closer look, the nose gives it away... There is no reflection of the photographer in it, just a marshaller.

I thought it looked like a marshaller too, but it's the reflection of the shadow of the aircraft on the runway.
Personally I don't think it's a fake. But either way it's an impressive looking image!

I stand correct then! Well noticed, it is indeed the reflection from the aircraft... It's that smoke that just doesn't convince me though

It'll be rejected for ratio I think - A.net are very picky about having a 3:2 aspect ratio for the photos. You'll probably need to crop it to 1024x683px.

Yellow aircraft are a right pain, the trouble is that when you sharpen them with box standard USM, it actually over saturates the hue. I have moved away from USM sharpening into Lab mode High Pass, it's a bit of extra work but in the end it is worth it.

Looking at your picture, the cloud tones are up in the 250 mark, far too much, see if you can reduce the exposure and get them down to the 245 mark.

If something is over saturated then it won't sharpen.

Looks to me like you're shooting into the sun and its slightly blurred, one for the personal collection perhaps?

Well a lot depends on what screener you,ve got !!!.
You got the wrong one i think.
But not standard pic,s are hard to get accepted on A-net.

Could be the angle not being correct,
would have given more of the angle to include the nose art just a bit more.
