Re: Old Warden, 1st May
I thought about booking but the trouble is with Old Warden - if the weather's good they are some of the very best air displays on the calander, but if the weathers bad, because of the nature of the aircraft that are displayed there, nothing much flies
I remember going a couple of years ago and the weather was bad. Remember the Lysander and the Gladiator getting airborne and the Anson tried but got bogged down on the runway! I am praying that the weather holds up for next weekend's show though! Been about two years since I last visited Old Warden and Im really looking forward to it!! You'll be able to pick out my car - A P-reg Red Saxo with a Green grill! Looks a bit like the Portuguese national flag

Yep, me and my other half Big Windy are going to chance it tomorrow, weather looks good. Hoping the PO2 flies. First time in 2 years so will try and meander around the Birds of Prey Centre and gardens too, which we missed last time.

Bit of a shame, that'll mean the Boxkite will be grounded then!Cherokee Rose wrote:Saw on BBC earlier, sunny and around 18mph easterly wind.

Do you think everything will still get airborne? (apart from the Edwardians)
