This is with FS36373 on the bottom:

And with FS36492:

I reckon the '492 one is more like it Shaun? - The '373 seems darker!

Its just the nose that is the strange one, which colour are you doing that. It seems to be a bit 'blueish' to me. Its almost ADC grey with a deeper blue tinge to it.

Which corresponds to Humbrol 127, US Ghost Grey, according to that Paint4Models site you posted Shaun (which is AWESOME, thanks!). Right, off to order paint!

Yeah I have no idea of the nose colour - I think it is some kind of primer, because there is a C-5B "Spirit of the Blue Hen", with the same colour on her nose. No one seems to know what it is though!

I think the closest I can come up with is FS16473 ADC grey (X138 xtra color) with a bit of FS15180 usn blue/grey (X162 xtra color) mixed in  The ADC grey is a nice blueish grey as it is but I think if you add a little of the USN colour it will hopefully give the desired effect

OK, this is what I reckon:

What do you think?

Its FS36118 for the top, FS36373 for the bottom, and FS35450 on the nose.

That looks about right, just the nose is a bit to blue but with a bit of grey mixed in that would definately work :thumb:

The modelling forum just gets better and better, it's 100% responsible for getting me back into modelling, something I have hardly done since 1982 - well with the exception of building up a huge stash none of which got started in the mid-late 80s which I then sold at considerable profit on ebaY circa 2003. I'm still gob-smacked at a set of 1:32 Paragon Tornado flaps and slats going for £94.0!

Nice of you to say HS, its good to hear you got back into the hobby :thumb:
I hope you will be entering our comp, I hear the prizes are realy good (even if I do say so myself  )

I'm toying with giving the comp a go, but I'm undecided which class. My former love was 1/32nd, but I'm not sure whether I'll do a "biggy" or stick with 1/48th. I'm sorely tempted by a couple of the Trumpeter 1/32 kits, or perhaps the Revell Typhoon, but I've got four nice 1/48 Foldy-wingy-thingies - as I call my FAA aircraft - in my stash.

Sorry for wandering off-topic.

yeah I bought some Humbrol Sea blue, and will add some greys and things to it. Paints came to £28, that should just about cover this beast!
