The remaining F.3s

Post by Unknown74 » Fri Mar 25, 2011 10:46 am

Are they likely to break cover from 111 Area - presuming that's where they'll be hiding - at all between now and when the final Aircraft depart Next Week, apart from the final hangar party that is?

Might be wrong but think ZE961 HB left yesterday PM to Boscombe.

I was at Boscombe and can confirm that ZE961/HB arrived mid afternoon as "Gauntlet 20".

Apologies for my ignorance.
Is this the last F3 flight on Monday or is there any other left on base ?

Shows that they've missed a trick there, ZE961 should have been the last jet out on Monday. You know what I mean, it should have been First In, Last Out.

By my reckoning there are 3 airframes at Leuchars that have flown recently - the 2 specials ('791 and JU) plus ZH554/HX (JU-C) but I can't find any mention of some airframes, that I saw flying on a trip there from 2nd-4th March, having left!
All will be clear by lunchtime on Monday, I guess?

Hi all,
Managed to catch 3 Tornados departing Leuchars today. As i was at work in Dundee, what i heard after they disappeared to the east sounded very nice! :'( :'(

Geoff.

Did they do/ were they allowed to do one last Flypast over the Base once they were Airborne? Also is there likely to be any mention of this final departure in The Courier or on the Scottish TV(Regional) News?

They flew over St Andrews for the last time. Was strange to think that we wont see them again :'( :'(
If it cant be fixed with a hammer, then its an electrical problem.
