Re: F1 2024
Well pleased for McLaren
I cannot believe or even try to understand how they turned things around from rock bottom
Back in the early 2000s I used to work for the team at Woking and from what I saw the emphasis from an engineering company point of view was always on the constructors title.
Everyone will no doubt be getting a big Christmas bonus ( during my seven years they never had any success on the track!)

Very pleased also for Mclaren. I was spectating at the start of the journey, met Bruce Mclaren several times in the Silverstone Paddock. So sad when he was killed so early. Maybe he was looking down today with a huge smile.

Re: F1 2024
Like I said mate. Qualifying doesn’t matter

Re: F1 2024
You sure about that?

TBF it would have been quite a dire race today without Hamilton and Leclerc making their way though the field (even if a number of drivers got out of their way..), but sorry your talking (Insert nessessary male genitalia here). His awful qualifying of late has cost him a win and contributed to the mess of Qatar for him last week. And Brazil...James Cutting wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 9:58 pmLike I said mate. If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

*You’re and it’s like talking to a brick wall isn’t it.
Considering their race pace, Mercedes wouldn’t have been chasing for the win, even qualifying on the front row. Russell showed that.

Re: F1 2024
Technically he qualified 18th and got bumped up two places. I'm not reading too much into his performance as he's been seeing out his Merc contract, we've seen him go off the boil before. I think we'll see him rejuvenated at Ferrari. Delighted for McLaren in the constructors. If Lando is to have any chance of taking the drivers we need him to be much more aggressive next year.

And which race are you referring to there? Plus that wasn't the point. He'd have had a better result had he qualified higher in any of the last 4 races. Though arguably not this one..

Following a post race review two penalty points have been added to Verstappen's Super Licence, which marks his eighth in a 12 month period.

Re: F1 2024
Difference being that he actually can pull a result out of the bag than Perez. As Mercedes have admitted using Hamilton as a test bed for 2025, and prioritising Russell for current races, no wonder his qualifying is no good.
Re: F1 2024
Sometimes yes. But as is the nature of F1, you can't go out in Q1 and finish on the podium everytime. Any other driver (apart from Perez bizarrely!) would have been replaced, or at least moves made to replace them.
Can't say I've seen that quoted anywhere for this year. Though he was used as a test driver in 2022 whilst they tried to sort the car out-from multiple sources.

Reported on BBC that Red Bull and Perez have agreed to part ways.

And unsurprisngly, Lawson replaces him. You've got to be seething if you're Yuki, who was outperforming his teammates in the Toro Rosso/VCARB/VisaCashApp/RacingBull...

Where will Perez end up I wonder?

Re: F1 2024
No spare seats for 2025 (unless they demote him to Toro Rosso!
) Maybe IndyCar or something like WEC perhaps.

Re: F1 2024
Is Yuki seen as more of an uncontrollable threat to Max, compared to a perhaps more compliant Liam?James Cutting wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 9:06 amAnd unsurprisngly, Lawson replaces him. Re: F1 2024
Potentially! Hadn't thought of it that way.
Re: F1 2024
I thought IndyCar would suit him, time will tell I guess, maybe Cadillac will sign him upJames Cutting wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 11:05 amNo spare seats for 2025 (unless they demote him to Toro Rosso!) Maybe IndyCar or something like WEC perhaps.
