A selection of images of varying quality from a show held in conditions that were unhelpful for colour slide photography. I was reminded recently that the 1977 show saw the birth of Squadron Prints, as they published their first ever print at the show. If nothing else this gives a flavour of the show and the conditions. The three 23 Squadron F-1A Lightnings were station decoys, used for a simulated airfield attack by four Jaguars from RAF Lossiemouth.
Thanks for sharing these, all great stuff and memories too. First shot is the Hunter, now displayed near the gate at RAF Halton in the same scheme. That Danish Draken was written off the following month, one I never saw.
Wonderful set of images of a golden era for me. Wish I had been a bit more adventurous and visited more shows in the 70's but didn't get into serious military spotting until 1977 (and I invested in a SLR camera). The good old days, eh?
