I think you're both missing the point of the post.

What I'm saying is: It's fine to think its a great line-up but it's also fine to think it's a poor line-up! All i'm trying to convey is let people have an opinion either way! Neither view is wrong but let's let people have their opinions without being told that their opinion is wrong!

Interesting that the U.S. Navy and Indian Air Force are showing ongoing.
How many more Thursday's will they be using for announcements. Will it go right up to the 6th July.

US Navy wanted to send a P-8 for static back in February, I guess they are waiting to see if it will be free for the show.

A USN P-3 would be much appreciated, they are becoming rare. Various websites say they are down to 40 plus the EP-3Es

So no full f35 display yet again at RIAT, except for a flyover right? do you think this was the last update other than static

okay some more hope yet, also these flying displays doing simulated tanking, surely there will be some acrobatics too right, they are not literally going to take off, form up, fly over and land? otherwsie fast jet wise displays we looking at a f18, typhoon, f16 and Gripen for the largest military airshow in the world

There's still 4 Thursday's and often there's announcements right up to the show. I would like to hope the flypasts contain a little bit more as well (A couple fast passes maybe!) but good to see 2 x Tornados refueling each other. There's still a lot more than those 4 jets displaying at the airshow.

Aerobatics require an airshow trained pilot, who will have practiced his/her display dozens of times, and had it approved and signed off by their higher command as 'safe'. It also has to be approved by the RIAT safety comitee, which means a practice display is performed on a day before the public are there.

So no, highly unlikely the stuff participating in any flypast or tanking display will do any aerobatics. a flamboyant run and break to land is about all you can hope for.

US Navy use F/A18 Super Hornet in the tanker roll. That would be a nice addition and goes with the theme. Not holding my breath!

Flying prevails whenever a man and his airplane are put to a test of maximum performance.
