If only it could be like the event in Rome a few days ago...
Flypast for the King's Coronation
There will indeed be a flypast over London on coronation day (Saturday May 6th). So far, the BBMF have confirmed with 4 fighters and the Lancaster which will be making its earlier season premiere. I'm also led to believe there could be a significant Typhoon element but that is not confirmed as of yet. Rehearsals for individual elements should begin very soon.

I wonder if we will get any commonwealth involvement.

Not sure I have quite plotted this right but it gives a rough idea (I think!)

+1. Indian Su-30MKIs and Pakistani J-20s would be nice too!

Will they do the MACH Loop? And will the Wave at Waddington be open?
Re: Flypast for the King's Coronation
I'm afraid those last two will take each other out on the way over!

Hi everyone,
Please follow the above link for more about the flypast,He has also provided links to the CAA notams for the practice day and the London flypast give times and routes.
It look like they are use the same plan as the RAF 100 and the Queens 70th flypast so again I will of to the London velodrome Stratford ,you get a better view than Central London also it better for photography. And it easy to get to by public transport

Re: Flypast for the King's Coronation
Is there a particular area around the Velodrome that offers the best view? I ask as we have gone to Fairlop for the past couple of flypasts, but it would be nice to re visit the old Olympic Park, and the flypast would be an ideal time to do it. I have been to the main stadium since, I don’t think I have been up at the velodrome end of the park since the 2012 Olympics!Sw wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 8:09 amhttps://www.military-airshows.co.uk/pre ... ay2023.htm

Re: Flypast for the King's Coronation
Hi,
If you walk just past the main entrance there's a open space with public seating, there is no high building to block your view. You can see the formations a minute or so before they flypast (From the right)In the velodrome these a coffee shop and toilets open to the public.
There is very little car parking available in the area except in the Westfield shopping centre. It's a 1.3mile walk.or a short bus ride and a 1/2 mile walk.If you have a bike there are cycle tracks in the area.

Re: Flypast for the King's Coronation
Hopkins Field adjacent to the VeloPark. You'd want to be at the southern end of the field to get a nice angle and the sun will be in the right place too.Philly1971 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 11:39 amIs there a particular area around the Velodrome that offers the best view? Waterloo Bridge and the South Bank are the the best spots in Zone 1 for photography/videography. Remember it being exceptionally busy by 1200 during the Platinum Jubilee flypast heaving on both sides! I don't think this event will be as busy as that, though.
