Once upon a time in the west, lot-3 11/91 Gordon

Post by Gordsmith » Wed Jun 22, 2022 10:28 am

Last entry for 1991, a holiday (should that be vacation?) with my long suffering wife. to Hawaii. A call to the PAO at Hickam AFB afforded me avisit and a very pleasant escort lady, to which I owe my thanks.

Another super post, some great Eagle shots but the C135C has to be my favourite.

Sun does nt always shine in Hawaii then! Still doubtless the surfing was still good. Those Japanese C-130s must have been an unexpected bonus!

Very, very nice pictures Gordon. These photos bring back a lot of memories to me. Like you I visited Hawaii in 1992 with my family. I checked at the base entrance to ask if it was possible to photograph the Hi.ANG aircraft. I got a very warm welcome and shot the early F-15A's and B's. A year later they were as hospitable as before when I visited them on my own. They had swapped their FY1974 aircraft for FY1976 ones. It is obvious they are not innundated with aviation hobbyists like the SW USA.
Thanks a lot for sharing these pictures. Best regards, Arnold
