Forgot to clarify, the flypast timings are detailed for the big day.
Tomorrows sorties are local to practice the 16 ship, ETD 1300L.

I thank Dave (Colt99) for posting the NOTAM. Everyone else seems to be posting a 'wish list'.
I would have hoped that a 'senior' member of this most respectful organisation would have secured info from the CRO's office - I don't think
the RAF would go to the trouble of misinformation for such a milestone in history. A telephone contact no. was issued.
Thanks for all those who have posted most useful info for those that will need to travel .. a long way

It is a shame Keith, as you say, that on such an important day happening within 48 hours nobody from Cottesmore has said "this is the plan" and that they don't seem to want people outside watching aswel :(

Completly understand that Vulcan, but until you mentioned that, nobody seemed to know any different, there is not even an original plan on the Cottesmore web site, so far we've had no flying at all tomorrow, final flypast tomorrow, rehersal tomorrow, final flypast wednesday and somebody has been told final flight friday, even though the base has not flown on fridays for about a month. somewhere i feel there will be people who are very dissapointed because they miss the final flypast

How about being polite for once Damien, I can understand peoples confusion but unless you have very hard evidence and you know exactly what the weather is doing then its really any ones guess. Usually when people write stuff on here about whats happening they get stick for hard evidence or getting a 'Person in the know' and now its going the complete other direction you are saying believe what people are writing. So everyone chill out and wait for an announcement from someone official, failing that then its down to the individual on what they will do!

Damien, you just want to seem like the high priest in everything, i did read what people were posting, one option, the CAA on their website which said flypast tuesday reserve wednesday, maybe you should try reading first.

Guys (and this applies to everyone) - I know that you all want the correct info so that you can get your last shots of the Harriers (and who wouldnt!) - but everyone just calm down a bit! Tension and hostility in here is not helping anyone.

I also heard similar to what Damien did at the fence, so don't go biting his head off about that, but then again - things can always change. The situation might well be different tomorrow morning (take today for example, we were expecting the 16 ship all day, and then it was suddenly cancelled).

So relax guys! :)

Got confirmation of my tickets today for Wednesday event, though talking to the guys it seems the flypast is only one of many things happening that day, if the flypast is cancelled due to weather everything else will still happen, so really its anyones guess :'(

Ok, Gents, for the final time from me.
Info was first hand this evening from a good friend of mine who will be flying one of the GR.9s tomorrow and Weds.
Tomorrow - rehearsal 16 ship ETD 1300L
Weds - The big day. 16 ship flying the route detailed earlier. A contingency plan is in place for Weds if the wx is unsuitable.
All obviously wx dependent but that is the plan as it stands.

Have a good day guys. As I said earlier, I'm not in the business of posting duff info.

Over and out.

Well if that contingency plan is 16 Harriers doing a verticle take-off and bowing to the crowd, I'm all for it

I notice in my photos that I've taken today that I've caught ZG500/71 arriving, but this aircraft didn't take off from Cottesmore today. I know Wittering was open , I assume that this is one of the three airframes that were rumoured to still be there and must have taken off from there this afternoon.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Guys thankyou all for your input - as in most cases 'its a bit of what you know balanced with who you know' .. shame the RAF haven't made
a bit more of this, they could have made a few bob for the end of year bash, we would all have willingly chipped in.
Enjoy a great 2 days, take a flask, have a bit of banter with your mates and watch the show.
Seen the Lightning Show, Phantom Show, Jaguar Show and hopefully now the Harrier Show .. the last show is never nice but enjoy
Keith :)

Hi mate, i agree with you - didn't see '71' take off and it seemed to sneak in amongst the other harriers. Thought i was cracking up when i checked my photos and didn't have a picture of this one taking off. Well spotted! :thumb:

Captain Scarlet is indestructable, you are not! Remember this, do not try to imitate him.
