ZM701 is the AH-64E inside the hall, one of 10 AH-64Es now delivered into the UK.

Re: DSEI 2021 London
I still haven't had a chance to get down to Docklands. I could go Friday morning but Saturday would be much better , less Friday traffic. Do you think the US Army Apache will still be there on Saturday? The event runs until 17/9 so there has to be a good chance of that?
Might even drag the Army AH-64E out!

We've just been down there. The local roads are very quiet and the Wildcat, AH-64D, CH-47 and UH-60 are all readable from the Connaught Bridge.

Cheers
I have made arrangements so I am fingers crossed for Saturday
I guess the Army AH-64E was roaded in from Wattisham - sounds crazy

Re: DSEI 2021 London
It was. (I'm open to correction, but I'm not sure that any of the new Apaches have yet flown?)
Re: DSEI 2021 London
The AAC Apaches that have exhibited at ExCel have ALWAYS been roaded in. The main rotors have to be removed to manoeuvre the helicopter into some of the tighter entrances, before being re-attached. So, they may as well just remove them at the home base and road move them, and have less work to do at ExCel.

All the delivered AH-64Es have flown, just not in the UK.simongrigor wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 6:56 pmIt was. (I'm open to correction, but I'm not sure that any of the new Apaches have yet flown?)

Re: DSEI 2021 London
The Royal Navy ships are all due out tomorrow at 12.30. No word on the Belgian.
Re: DSEI 2021 London
I'm sat here at the moment and crews are now around all three helicopters.
Re: DSEI 2021 London
The US Army choppers expected at 15:30 CET in Brussels
Re: DSEI 2021 London
Thanks for the updates chaps, lots of ground activity around all three. And lovely weather to boot!

Nice bit of video,
Pilots must have had some work to do taking off from confined space with tall buildings, lamp posts and unsecured fence panels to contend with, good training for them I guess
