Forum overhaul
Re: Forum overhaul
Can I suggest that the forum is taken down until such time as all modifications have been completed and thoroughly tested. It should make things easier overall.
Re: Forum overhaul
The shuttleworth section is now working thanks admins.

Re: Forum overhaul
Maybe combine the North East with North West as North EnglandDavid Thompson wrote: ↑Mon Jul 05, 2021 8:12 pmThe Northeast England Subforums could now quite easily be reduced to just RAF Leeming with possibly the addition of Teesside Airport for its use by Draken for their Falcon operations ?
with Leeming & Warton as the only bases of interest
Certainly no need for Woodford anymore as it no longer exists as an airfield (its a housing estate) with a small museum at one end
if retaining North West then Warton , Blackpool, Woodvale/Altcar Camp and Manchester-Barton (gets more visitors than some military airfields some weeks)

Re: Forum overhaul
North East and West have now been merged into a Northern England section. I will removed the forum bases into a archived section.

Re: Forum overhaul
Can I ask if Admin have had any joy with resolving this please?Mike wrote: ↑Sun Jul 04, 2021 6:41 pmGary, I've mentioned this to you before, but how do members that have locked themselves out of their accounts get in touch with an active member of Admin to reactivate their account/reset password etc.?
I've noticed loads of active members having new accounts created over the years when it's not been necessary, has any member of staff ever been given access to the Admin email account that is connected to the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of every page?

Re: Forum overhaul
Not as far as I’m aware, Mike. In fact that’s the first I’ve personally heard about the admin email account!
Re: Forum overhaul
Finally got around to looking at the whole forum, the US section has been overhauled. All subsections have been removed. The European section will be next.
I'm also going through the entire membership and deleting any dormant account. Currently deleting anyone who signed up and have never logged in It's a long slow process

I started to try and do the dormant account purge but as you say - it's a long and slow process! I don't envy youGary wrote: ↑Mon Oct 11, 2021 1:10 amFinally got around to looking at the whole forum, the US section has been overhauled. All subsections have been removed. Re: Forum overhaul
You can get mods for phpBB that'll do it for you!
Edit: phpBB apparently has it built in now: https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support ... ers%20link.

Re: Forum overhaul
It crashed when trying to prune the forum using the built in function. Comes up with a 500 error.
Working through July 2012, a lot of people seemed to sign up in May to July. Could be the Olympic Guardian / Queen Diamond Jubilee effect
