Thanks! Didnt think anyone was interested
Re: Vulcan & 748s at Southend
They are interesting, are they just rotting there or are they doing something with them like spares etc?
Re: Vulcan & 748s at Southend
Hi Shaun, they are actually just off base around the back of the Skylark Hotel, the owner intends to restore and display them out the front once he has renovated the hotel complex, he has what I think is a Beech Bonaza as well, a little V tailplane little civvy thing .

Interesting, hotels with gate guards I hope it catches on
Re: Vulcan & 748s at Southend
I wish they had real guards at some of the Hotels I've stayed in!

Re: Vulcan & 748s at Southend
The Crowne Plaza (formally Marriot) at Liverpool Airport is located in the old Speake airport terminal, out front is a replica DH89 and on the old ramp at the back is a Jetstream, Prince, Brittania and soon to be delivered HS 748 (sorry they are all civil)viper3111 wrote:Interesting, hotels with gate guards I hope it catches on

Re: Vulcan & 748s at Southend
When were these there??
Re: Vulcan & 748s at Southend
Hello fellow early bird got these October 31st, they are still there at the back of the Skylark hotel next to the airport
Re: Vulcan & 748s at Southend
Little update - somebody kindly listed a link to this page from Civil Aviation. I went over there on 31st December '11 and took some more pics. They really are in a sorry state but despite that, the owner of them and the Skylark Hotel insists that now the place is renovated he intends to move one of them onto the front car park, probably in the summer. If it should collapse in a heap the moment the crane starts to lift it I wouldn't be a bit surprised! Even the pile of wooden pallets supporting the rear is rotting away and starting to sag.
The link to the pics is http://www.civilianaviation.co.uk/forum ... =13&t=9749" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Let me know if anyone wants them added to this thread as well.

Very interesting, didn't know about these two....always good to know there might be some more spares for JD at Liverpool along the line if he's willing to part with bits.
