Re: G7
Hi everyone not long till event now any news update Soon?

Re: G7
Not long! 11th-13th June so that's still over a month away!
There will be plenty of news in the lead up to the event but I bet there will be very little on where/when aircraft will be arriving/departing/operating from if that's what you're after.
Regards
Mark

From local news sites.
Around Cornwall Airport Newquay - there will be a number of road closures and parking restriction orders in place around the airport for the duration of the event, beginning at 6pm on June 9 and ending on 11.59pm on June 13.
Businesses within the perimeter and in the immediate vicinity of Cornwall Newquay Airport will be contacted shortly by the Cabinet Office with specific identification requirement instructions.

Re: G7
As has already been posted roads and viewing spots around the airport will be closed and monitored by police / security. Residents and people working around the airfield site and perimeter along with the Carbis Bay venue will be asked to provide I.D. and those without a valid reason to be there will be moved on.
The police have already been moving people on at the airfield and have stated all the usual spots will be closed to public access.

Re: G7
I concur TimFoo, been spotting there for years myself
Do we know how far away from the airport does the restrictions stop?
Additionally i guess it depends on which way they land.
I don't really care about the conference or the heads of states, just want the aircraft they're flying in on.

Re: G7
It's going to be tricky and depends on whether your after photo's or just serials, as well as the runway in use.
It certainly doesn't sound like it's going to be as straight forward as the old days when we could stand just inside the airfield by the old civvy terminal or climb on the derelict bowser!

Re: G7
It's going to be very difficult. have to have a think about it. may have to park the car somewhere and have a wander around.
Used to get good pictures from the high ground at St Dennis Church (990ft on the QNH). Have also taken shots on the approach from Castle an Dinas.
Would be good if they highlighted the closures and supplied upfront.

Re: G7
Sounding just a little smug there Tim,

1/3 end will probably just be a nice spot to sit on the coast path and hope they come in low enough for a decent photo.
May bump into you, I suspect a lot of the old crowd will come out of the woodwork for this.

Sorry old-timer but exactly what old crowd do you expect to come out of the woodwork?
