Revell 1/32 F-4E

Post by PaulN » Sun Dec 27, 2020 4:41 pm

Hi

Last of the catch up bunch :thumb:

After updating my Alconbury pages on my Pbase site , I had so much inspiration , what a great place that was to take photos :thumb: I decided on an 86th TFW F-4E 68-497 ,that I took on 19-06-1977 :Wow: where does the time go :S whilst they were over on DACT with the 527th TFTAS F-5E's

Here is the finished kit using AeroDecal decals , which if anyone knows these were around in the 1970s , they did some nice stuff including a USAFE F-4 sheet which I have had since the early 1970s ,it was done in 1/72 . 1/48 and 1/32 , . I was dubious about using it , being so old , but I need not have worried , I wish a lot of modern decals were this good

Finished as usual in Xtrcolor , Paulclad and Alclad varnish

Thanks for looking

Happy New Year everyone

Cheers

Paul :thumb:

I love this build. The level of detail you get in the cockpit is amazing.

That is another beauty Paul. I must get round to doing a 43 Squadron or 111 from Leuchars at some point. Grew up with them and the lightnings. The Phantom still special. I remember a few US ones at Leuchars Air Displays.

Thank you very much everyone

Really enjoyed making this , bought back great memories of trips out

Still hoping Hong Kong Models are going to do their 1/32 RAF Phantom Chris...the shelves would be cleared, along with the bank balance

Thanks again

Superb just had a flash back when i saw this, memories of the good old days. The F4 is my favourite aircraft.

A fantastically finished model once again chap, but there is one thing that I see a lot with F-4 models - anhedral angle on tail planes.
At a guess I think you are around 10* too shallow bud. Tailplane anhedral is 23 1/2*.

NOT a criticism, please don’t take it that way, just after spending a good amount of time and money on that model, I only offer corrections.

Thank you every one

garyscott , I know what you mean , but it looks OK with the other 10 on the shelf , lets see if Academy can get it right on their new 1/32 (late) F-4E they have coming this year :S

Thanks again
