RAF Cranwell 04/11/2020
With the lock down in England coming into force on the 5th of November I decided to visit Cranwell on the 4th.
With great light, cloud formations and some nice late afternoon visitors the trip was definitely worth it.
Below is a small selection of the shots I took on the day.

A lovely set of images, indeed in super light.
Your image of "The Spirit of Ayre" is particularly poignant, as I had the privilege of working alongside Tony Ayre during our time together at Waddington.
On this, of all days, rest in peace my friend.

With regards to Tony I thought this was very fitting:
"Living his life 'to the max', Tony worked hard but played even harder. An active member of many Service sports associations such as the RAF Flying Clubs' Association (RAFFCA), challenge and achievement was his mantra for life. Having gained his Private Pilots Licence with the RAF Akrotiri Flying Club in 2003, he had immersed himself in the world of light aircraft flying and served on numerous RAF Flying Club Committees. A talented engineer, he was considered a valued ‘asset’ at each of his member clubs and there is no doubt that his selfless commitment in ensuring aircraft were serviced and maintained ultimately allowed many others, namely Junior Ranks (JRs), to experience the joy of flight at very little personal cost. As a pilot, he had continued to develop his skills, achieving various qualifications and organising flying expeditions over challenging and unfamiliar environs. However, for Tony, the challenge presented by one particular flying discipline stood head and shoulders above all others - Aerobatics"
Rest in peace
All the best

Re: RAF Cranwell 04/11/2020
The Defender has 'Army' next to the serial. Didn't the RAF take them on a while ago? Or have they just not got round to spraying over it?
Crisp pics by the way.

You've got some great shots in that lovely Autumn Sunlight. I wish those Texans could be marked up in their 72 squadron colours, they would look so much better with the colour bars on their roundels (like the Tucano's were marked).

I have had to reply to everyone in two messages due to the number of smileys.
I like that shot as well.
Thanks for the comment
I know what you mean wouldn't it be great if the RAF went back to full squadron markings on all the aircraft, maybe a special squadron leaders jet as well.
Thanks for the comments guys it is much appreciated.
