Yep, I had someone pay out £2.50 to a company called "VS Vending" in the US. The bank already had the card flagged up as suspicious, but didn't have an up to date number to call me on, so they've blocked it, and will refund the monies!

That's awful, am I correct in thinking it wasn't their banking that was hacked but the database they store all your card details in?

I'm no expect but I'm sure you guys have the right to claim using failure to abide by the data protection act...

I think judging by the content on the above link that it was not just Hannants but was their banking system in the US that was hacked.

Just got on to the phone to the CC company (LloydsTSB) and checked my balance, apart from my existing payment on there nothing unusual was seen but someone tried to take out almost £500 on Oct 25th but the transation was automaticaly declined!
The bloke on the phone said they had several calls from people today about Hannants transactions.

Thanks agian!

It not only Hannants customers that are getting hit. My brother phoned me just now to warn me about this as he knows I buy over the net. Some of his work colleagues have been scammed from other non modelling outlets.

Guys check your accounts asap, as this sounds like a massive scam

If you have used any card to purchase from anywhere on the web cancel it!!!! As they can use the details for the life of the card :grr:

Well just checked mine, and I look OK so far - but will be cancelling the card as a precaution I think!

My card has been hacked :grr: Thankfully it was for the small tester amount. I have cancelled my card so they cant get any more.

Dont take any risks, cancel your card if you are a hanannts customer

!really important!

I'm hearing that one of the major processing centres has been hacked, not individual traders. Check with your bank now. Most banks are wise to it and are decling unusual or big payments but check anyway.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.

Mine's been cancelled as a precaution, and a new one on the way.

Was lucky I think, as no money was taken.

Phoned the bank today (RBS) Doesn't appear to be anything out of my account but the girl I spoke to was far from convincing so will go into the branch tomorrow.

However she did advise to cancel any cards that have been used with Hannants regardless of how long ago.

I checked my account online again this evening only to find it had completely disappeared from my online banking site, I phoned the Credit Card company staight away and was told that 3 test withdrawls had been made today for £0.83 £1,18 & £1.50 all with companies I have nothing to do with!!!!!

Needless to say, my card has how been cancelled automatically by the bank :@

Everyone needs to keep checking there acccounts for these small test withdrawls, although in my case the bank were well switched on :thumb:
The very helpful woman I spoke to had already delt with several other HG Hannants customers today!

Be vigilant folks
Stuart.

Well, guess who got a call from Halifax to say three transactions had been tried on his debit card and fortunately refused - damned glad they were, the total was around £1150 - all on online gambling sites. As this is the card used on my Hannant's Account, I'm guessing this was the source.

Card was automatically cancelled this morning, awaiting new card.

Received a letter and new card from my credit card company this morning.Apparently unusual activity on it?
Not used this card with Hannants for over a year and unused since june!
Maybe just a coincidence?

Just to add some good news to this whole nasty gubbins,

Hanannts have now re opened there site and are accepting orders, but they are no longer keeping hold of your card details. So when you order, your card details are deleted straight after your order is processed.
I prefer it this way as its safer and I cant spend as much as with the old system I could just press confirm and I had more gubbins on the way. Now I will have to go and find my wallet, let the moths out and contemplate if I really should by more stuff on the walk to get it

Of coarse that all goes out the window when I go to telford as I seem to buy something at most stalls, well its rude not to
