E-3D/Sentinel

Post by Oliver-barrow » Sun Sep 20, 2020 9:14 pm

Evening all,

I was hoping someone could help me. I drove past Waddington last Thursday (17 Sep 20) around 1230 and saw through the crash gate prior to the viewing area 2x E-3Ds and 1x Sentinel parked up next to one another. Can anyone provide the serials for these please?

Baz.

ZH102/107 E3s are parked near to the Vulcan.

If you refer to Alpha dispersal it would be ZH106/103, as ZH101 had probably already departed by the time you drove past.

The only two Sentinels on base at that time were ZJ691/694, 694 was the one most recently active so maybe that one.

Not 100% accurate but may help.

Mike,

That’s very helpful, thank you. I can add these in now. It was definitely the ones by the Vulcan.

Sorry to jump on this thread but why have the sentinals started using alpha dispersal? I have noticed over the last few months they have been parked there.

The Shadows have changed where they park as well.

They used to operate from '2 hangar north' and the dispersal where the Rjs park, but they now operate from Alpha or the compass swing, not exactly sure where this is but think it's north of the tower.

During the hot weather some of the tarmac got damaged and some of the hard standings are closed via NOTAM due to heat degradation, would guess that's the reason.
