Hello All

Post by Warthog 10 » Sun Sep 06, 2020 11:08 am

Just signed up over last few days having browsed these forums for a number of years now, and hoping now to get more out of it.

I'm well into photography and love fast jets so can often be found outside military air bases including Fairford, Lakenheath & Marham in recent times.

I love the Mach Loop but haven't got there recently.

Does anybody know if the Aviano F16'S are likely to enter the "Loop" or the F35'S for that matter at Marham before either detachments return?

Looking forwards to some great experiences/photographs on the coming weeks & months ahead.

Thank you for the welcome Paddyboy & Tiger 1

Would either of you or anybody else know if Fairford is likely to be "active" at all tomorrow, as I know Lakenheath is notam'd as closed. Or where can I access notam'd other than when they are posted here?

Many Thanks

Hi Warthog

I'm afraid I don't know for sure... normally because it's a US holiday I would say no flying as is the case at Lakenheath but the difference is the F15s are based aircraft not under exercise / deployment conditions.

So the B52s which are deployed could well fly as part of the deployment... a Notam will be be issued if they are... just depends how far away you are from the field.

May be some of the guys on here may help further if they can.

As it's Labor Day, I doubt there'll be any action at any of our U.S. bases

Thank you all. I did venture up to Fairford but alas arrived about 20 minutes after the departure of two "Buffs". I went away and returned in time for the arrival of a U2.

I would post a photo but not sure how to at this stage. Will have to investigate and home!

Once again thanks all
