Hello folks. New to these parts, but this thread caught my eye, and seeing as these are my favourite kind of shots, here are some of mine from recent years

Well not so recent, starting with Santa Maria 2010 -- I got a message from the pilot last week, eight years later!

Santa Maria 2011, the crew promised a couple of passes after departure and kept their word, low and slow (zoom in, the WSO is saying hello)

I've read a couple pages of this thread and haven't seen it, but have you guys posted this famous picture of a collection B-25 with a guy showing his @rse to the camera from the bomber's station? "friendly" isn't the first word I'd use for it, but I'm sure the guy meant no harm!

It reminds me of another story, that you have probably heard as well, about the "friendship" between US fighter pilots and the crews of the Soviet bombers they intercepted in the American airspace during the cold war: at first, the pilots flipped each other off and showed their colleagues from accross the Iron Curtain whatever hairy parts they could think of, but then, they started recognising each other and began waving to each other, while some US pilots would bring in Playboy magazines on board and would show them to the Soviet airmen for them to take pictures of; even a couple hundred meters from each other, the super-sensitive spy plane cameras could capture in high definition the "wonders of the American way of life" depicted on the pages of the magazines.
After a couple times, the Soviet authorities heard about that, were unpleased, and decided to attach permanently political officers to the bombers flying long range missions near NATO airspace. Since these were not trained airmen, the Soviet pilots would then simulate being caught in turbulences so that the political officers would feel sick and go hide in the depths of the Tupolevs, allowing the plane crews from both sides to keep going on as usual.

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Back in March 2019 a Slovak C27J came to my home filed. One of the pilots was waving and the other gave me a thumbs up :)

As usual, I was the only spotter there that day :(

Its gonna rain, its gonna rain till the levee breaks, a tidal wave of fear and pain washes us away, another fight into the night until nothing else remains, how do we find harbour from the Hurricane?
