Hi can anyone help !
I have acquired a Grimes MFG Co Light Assembly Rotating with a serial number 24414A and a Part number 67410-8. It’s a 28Volt unit.
Not really into aircraft but into military history happened to see this item in the UK and couldn’t resist. Not sure if it military or commercial but someone will know.
I can see that the light has some age and it must of come off a larger aircraft but looking for any more information.
New to forum so feeling my way through !
Would like to upload some photos but cannot see how to ?
Thanks in advance
Alan

Re: Light Assembly Rotating Under Wing
Photos loaded okay.
Looking at the rear of the unit the connector suggests 1950's vintage and the lack of 'WD' arrow suggests a civil aircraft.
Streamlind but 'chunky' design suggests 1950's. Rivetted construction and primer paint suggest it may be post 1945 to early 1960's.
Grimes was founded in Urbana, Indiana in the 1930's but is now part of Honeywell International (Aerospace Division)
Sorry but that's a near as I can get.
George

Hi Alan,
Try this Link https://www.key.aero/forum/historic-aviation
Hopefully someone on there may be able to help you? (You will need to join the forum first to post though...)
The stuff that the people on this site know about Historic Aircraft components, and identifying them is quite unbelievable!!
Good luck

Hi Alan
No problem-Let us know how you get on as I for one am intrigued.
I don't think there is a topic heading anywhere for questions like yours on this group? And I am not sure if it really comes under the remit of this Forum for posting as a question? (Is this correct Mods?)
If/when you find out what type it has come off, you might be better sending out a PM to anyone who is interested (Top Right hand corner of the page, next to the log in.)
As said, good luck finding out.
regards
