States they will operate out of various European installations: Fairford, Lajes and Moron are too my knowledge the only bases in europe capable in terms of infrastructure to operate B2s
I'd suggest there are several more installations in Europe able to conduct 'short term' B2 ops than B1's and B52's which are more 'infrastructure hungry' and pretty much limited to Fairford , and Moron 'at a push'. It just becomes a problem for B2's beyond a few days when Fairfords B2 purposed hangarage comes into play . Just a view mind . :halo:

Is the NOTAM for Whiteman tonight still up? Would imagine the third aircraft will need to leave to meet the other two at Lajes.

The 3rd a/c was more than likely an air spare and rtb’d Whiteman before the hook up with SPUR66, fairly common procedure.

Isn't that merely mentioning that they're a Tiger associate unit? :S

Last time B-2s deployed to the UK , the first support flights arrived 12 days prior with 8 support flights in total. So far we’ve only had 3 support flights over 4 days, so you might be waiting a bit longer.

NATO Tiger Meet isn’t until the 10th of May so can’t see any connection to current build up?

From Scramble the 2 B2's to Lajes were 88-0332 and 82-1070
88-0332 "Spirit of Washington" but unofficially called "Lazarus" after it was damaged in fire at Guam in 2010

82-1070 "Spirit of Ohio"

You are right on the mark there! Most of the NTA member units in the States haven't sent an aircraft to a NATO Tiger Meet in ages and I seriously doubt that the USAF will send a B-2 to Portugal!

Do I take it that the B-2's are still in Lajes?
