It apparently starts on Monday. Leeming is usually pretty quiet on a Friday.

I was thinking of making the 4hr trek up here on Thurs as need one of the Lossie aircraft (360). I would appreciate an info of likely activity to avoid a wasted journey. No reports for yesterday, was there any flying? Or likely to be on Thurs?

Thanks for any info
Andy

No flying yesterday due to winds. With it only being the second day today, and no flying as yet, it's difficult to predict what will/won't fly on Thursday.

We left the viewing area around 2pm. Been there since around 10am. No sign at all of Typhoons. In fact the last 2 Hawks which had been parked on the ramp had been towed back into the hangar. Gave up after that !!

Two Hawks XX318 and XX348 are up from Teesside with two Cobham Falcons and two more Hawks are south down the Northumberland coast and show as XX203 and XX205 .

Cheers David. I had seen some Hawks depart which had not returned up to when i left. Had assumed they'd decided on lunch elsewhere !!

The Falcons are back at Teesside and presumably the Hawks to Leeming ?
Their 'trade' appeared to be CBY Typhoons one of which showed as ZK309 c/s WOLF0014 .

I have wasted a quite a few hours at Leeming the last few days chasing Typhoon's ZK435 and ZK437.Forecast not good going forward and cross winds are probably the reason for them not flying.Might waste a few more tomorrow morning but not hopeful much will be different.

Up at Leeming today. 3 Hawks and no sign of Typhoons.
Anyone know when they are due out of the sheds.
Might pop up next week after hours if any night flying is going on

They or due to start flying on Monday that's if the weather improves. Not sure why people have been thinking they were going to be up this week as the plan was for them not to start till the 24th!

It's a shame you didn't share that information earlier, it would have saved a lot of wasted journeys!

It was the post on the RAF Leeming Facebook page which said the exercise was due to start on the 13th February.
it certainly isn't normal procedure to have the jets sat idle for 12 days.
